The Sultan al Muayyad Complex-Cairo-Egypt: The muqarnas (stalactites niche) portal is of grand proportions. It has a large conch vault whith nine tiers of dripping stalactites. A band of carved stone inlaid with marble and red and turquoise colored stones frames the doorway.
