Feel spring in green Slovenia! Not far from Ljubljana, Volčji Potok Arboretum will host an exhibition of over two million tulips between 26 April and 4 May. Moving among the tulips there will be full-size dinosaurs, which have been resurrected here in Slovenia in order for them to soften up among the flowers. This is no April fool hoax, but a colourful, all-Slovenian greeting to spring at the foot of the two-thousanders of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps where a tulip will blossom for every one of the two million Slovenians.

One of the islands of Western Cyclades, Sifnos, a balance of beautiful beaches, nightlife, white Cycladic villages, low-impact tourism and maybe the best food in the Cyclades, is listed in the Top Ten Islands under the Sun. From Slovenia, a Central European country at the juncture of the Alps and the Mediterranean, today, on 8 January 2012, the Virus SW ultra light plane has set out on a two-month journey around the world. Weighing merely 290 kilos, this plane, which uses a minimum amount of fuel, was constructed by the Slovenian manufacturer, Pipistrel, a recurrent winner of the NASA award for top energy-efficient planes.
